HOURS: Monday - Sunday; hours vary depending on trips - average one trip per week

RATE: $19/hour - minimum starting rate

TYPE: Part-Time

QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 21 years or older and have a high school diploma or GED. Class C, IL CDL license with a passenger endorsement preferred. Experience driving large vehicles essential; as well as knowledge of mechanics of these particular vehicles. Familiar with driving and getting around Chicago and suburbs highly recommend. Must be friendly, professional, and customer service oriented. Will be required to pass a driver's abstract and physical with drug screen post offer prior to beginning work.

DUTIES
Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor, the PT Bus Driver will transport adults, seniors, and special clients, such as persons with disabilities, on day and/or overnight trips. Responsible for providing quality customer service and representing the District in a professional manner. May assist passengers in boarding or exiting and taking attendance. Bus driver may also act as trip leader for certain trips. Will conduct pre and post vehicle inspections, report any vehicle maintenance issues, fill up the vehicle with gas before each trip and track mileage. Responsible for sweeping the bus and emptying trash after each trip. Will ensure adherence to FVPD safety rules, DOT regulations, and IL Rules of the Road. This is an at-will position.
