Software Architect

We are seeking an experienced Software or Solutions Architect to support the migration of point-of-sale systems across brick-and-mortar locations, as well as a mobile application, to a new banking platform. This role will partner closely with software engineering teams to design, validate, and guide the implementation of new architectures supporting this migration, along with a backlog of related initiatives.

This is a hands-on architecture role that blends system design and proof-of-concept development in a regulated, transaction-heavy environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design and technical strategy for migrating POS systems and mobile applications to a new banking platform
• Collaborate closely with frontend, backend, and platform engineering teams to design scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions
• Translate business and operational requirements into technical architecture and system designs
• Build and validate proof-of-concept code to de-risk architectural decisions
• Define and review API contracts and integration patterns between internal systems and third-party platforms
• Guide teams on best practices related to cloud architecture, application design, and system integration
• Support backlog initiatives by providing architectural direction, estimates, and technical tradeoff analysis
• Ensure solutions align with performance, security, compliance, and reliability requirements typical of fintech environments

Required Qualifications

• 7 to 10 years of professional experience in software engineering or architecture roles
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
• Strong understanding of system architecture, application design, and API-driven integrations
• Hands-on ability to write proof-of-concept code to validate designs and approaches
• Experience working closely with engineering teams to guide solution implementation
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have

• Experience working in fintech, financial services, or regulated environments
• Cloud-native architecture experience, particularly in Azure or AWS
• Experience with large-scale system migrations or platform modernization initiatives
