This position directly supports USF's strategic goal of enhancing student success by addressing housing challenges that affect retention and engagement. By facilitating smooth transitions from on-campus to off-campus housing, the role ensures students remain connected to university resources and community programs. It strengthens
partnerships with local housing providers, improves compliance with health and safety standards, and reduces risk associated with inadequate housing options. Ultimately, this position enhances operational efficiency within Housing & Residential Education and contributes to a positive student experience. This position reports to the Assistant Director for Marketing & Communications.
Salary: $50,000 annual. On Campus position
Resource Management & Communication:
- Manage and maintain off-campus housing resources, including departmental websites and communication channels.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and relevance of information provided to students and families.
Community & Property Relations:
- Establish and maintain relationships with local property owners, managers, and community partners through regular meetings and site visits.
- Serve as liaison with city officials and community organizations to enhance town-gown relationships and discuss housing trends.
Events & Outreach:
- Coordinate and participate in housing fairs, property manager luncheons, and community meetings throughout the year.
- Represent the department at campus and community events related to housing and student engagement.
Educational Programming:
- Develop and deliver programs focused on off-campus housing options, lease education, financial literacy, and strategies for staying connected to campus.
- Provide guidance on tenant rights, responsibilities, and best practices for safe and successful off-campus living.
Marketing & Operational Support:
- Collaborate with Housing Operations and Outreach teams on marketing initiatives, housing assignments, and client services.
- Assist with departmental projects and routine tasks as needed.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience in student housing operations, property management, business administration, customer service, event coordination, marketing and communications, or related field.
Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree.

- SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements
- A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed:
- (a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- (b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- (c) Six years of direct experience for a master's degree;
- (d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
- (e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
- Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
- Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
KSA: Understanding of housing trends, lease agreements, and student development principles; Ability to ensure compliance with university policies and relevant regulations (ADA, FERPA, FHA, etc.); Demonstrated competence utilizing technology for data analytics, tracking, and project management
