Position Summary

The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and maintaining daily staffing schedules to ensure appropriate coverage for all shifts while meeting regulatory requirements and supporting quality resident care. This role works closely with nursing leadership and administration and requires discretion, accuracy, and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, manage, and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly staffing schedules
  • Ensure staffing levels meet state regulations and facility standards
  • Coordinate call-outs, shift changes, PTO requests, and coverage needs
  • Communicate effectively with nursing staff and leadership regarding staffing updates
  • Track attendance, overtime, agency usage, and staffing metrics
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding staffing, employee, and operational matters
  • Support compliance audits and reporting as needed

Qualifications

  • Prior staffing or scheduling experience in a skilled nursing or healthcare setting strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of nursing home staffing requirements and regulations
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and solutions-focused in fast-paced situations
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with scheduling systems and basic computer applications
