We are seeking an Associate Director, Sample Logistics and Inventory Management to lead operations at our Spring House, PA site.

Purpose: This role ensures efficient, complaint, and innovative management of sample logistics, inventory systems, and related programs.
You will be responsible for:- Lead daily operations for sample logistics and inventory management, ensuring resource efficiency and operational excellence
- Oversee Controlled Substances, Shipping Logistics, and the Donor Program, ensuring compliance with regional laws and regulatory requirements
- Drive innovation through next-generation infrastructure, software solutions, and process improvements to support the evolving Discovery portfolio
- Manage OPEX, CAPEX, and Contractor planning, including budget execution
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with suppliers and contract research organizations
- Foster a high-performing organizational culture and develop team capabilities
Education:
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Biological Sciences, Engineering, or related field required.
Required:
- 10+ years in sample logistics, laboratory automation, research operations, or supply chain
- Proven ability to translate vision into actionable strategies within a matrixed organization
- Strong relationship-building skills to identify and leverage opportunities
- Expertise in managing capital projects from concept to completion, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery
- Awareness of scientific advancements, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape
- Deep knowledge of sample logistics and inventory management across multiple modalities.
- Hands-on experience with robotic liquid handlers (e.g., Tecan, Hamilton, Beckman, Agilent) and scheduling software (e.g., HighRes Biosolutions Cellario, Thermo Scientific Momentum).
- Expertise in designing, integrating, and maintaining high-throughput laboratory automation systems.
- Experience managing Controlled Substances and compliance with regional regulations.
- IT systems and database development and deployment experience.
