Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Skid Steer Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating skid steer loaders and other heavy equipment to assist with various construction projects. Your expertise will help ensure efficient site operations, safety, and quality workmanship. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and heavy equipment operation skills to contribute to successful project completion.
Responsibilities
- Operate skid steer loaders safely and efficiently across multiple construction sites, handling materials, debris, and earthmoving tasks
- Assist with the operation of additional heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, horizontal drilling rigs, and paving machinery as needed
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met
- Follow detailed instructions from site supervisors to execute specific tasks related to construction site development
- Support excavation activities by managing material movement and site clearing operations
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate equipment usage and maintain a clean, organized work environment
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and construction regulations at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience operating skid steer loaders in a construction setting with a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation
- Mechanical knowledge of construction machinery including Caterpillar equipment and other heavy-duty vehicles
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) or equivalent for transporting equipment or materials between sites
- Experience working on construction sites with familiarity in excavation, grading, paving, and water truck operations
- Ability to operate additional machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, tankers, horizontal drills, and paving machines is preferred
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to heavy equipment use in construction environments
- Construction site experience demonstrating versatility across various types of projects is highly desirable
