As a Training & Compliance Supervisor, you will play a vital role recruiting qualified drivers, managing the orientation & training program, and supervising the ongoing safety performance of the G&D fleet. Your primary responsibilities will include the following:
- Creating, reviewing, approving, and maintaining accurate driver safety files and records as required by law.
- Tracking compliance with Federal and State transportation regulations (e.g., DOT standards) in accordance with HR regulation and policy
- Assisting with day-to-day compliance documents, background checks, employment verifications, drug screens, and DOT physicals
- Ownership of the orientation and onboarding process for all drivers.
This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in data management systems to help reduce risks and promote a culture of safety across the company.
Principal Duties:
- Obtain, review, and maintain Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) for all drivers, including initial checks from states where licenses were held in the past three years and annual updates.
- Monitor and track driver qualifications, including CDL validity, medical certifications (DOT physicals), endorsements, and certificates of violations.
- Manage and update Driver Qualification (DQ) files in compliance with 49 CFR Part 391, ensuring all required documents are current and accurately filed.
- Conduct annual reviews of driving records, document evaluations, and determine driver eligibility based on company standards and FMCSA guidelines.
- Monitor continuous driver monitoring systems for real-time alerts on violations or changes in driving status.
- Notify drivers and management of upcoming expirations (e.g., licenses, medical cards) and coordinate renewals to prevent lapses in compliance.
- Perform internal audits of driver files, logs, and records to identify and resolve non-compliance issues promptly.
- Collaborate with HR, recruiting, safety, and operations teams on driver selection, onboarding, training, and any corrective actions related to violations.
Education and Experience:
Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
Experience: 1 -3 years in transportation safety, compliance, or a related field.
Knowledge: Familiarity with DOT/FMCSA regulations, driver safety, training, andaccident/incident investigations.
Skills: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, work collaboratively, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Communication: Ability to train, coach, and communicate safety policies effectively.
Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and transportation compliance software.
