Job Summary
The Dietary Manager is responsible for planning, preparing, and overseeing nutritious meals for up to 32 women in a licensed residential treatment facility. This position ensures compliance with state licensing requirements, food safety regulations, and facility policies while supporting residents' health, recovery, and overall well-being. The Dietary Manager manages food inventory and ordering to maintain consistent, high-quality meal service.
Essential Functions:
Meal Planning & Preparation
- Plan and prepare balanced, nutritious meals for approximately 32 female patients in accordance with nutritional guidelines and licensing standards.
- Accommodate physician-ordered diets, allergies, and special dietary needs.
- Ensure meals are prepared and served on schedule with appropriate portion sizes.
- Maintain a therapeutic, respectful, and professional kitchen environment supportive of recovery.
Inventory Management & Purchasing
- Conduct weekly inventory of food, beverages, and kitchen supplies.
- Order food and supplies in compliance with budgetary guidelines and facility procedures.
- Monitor food usage to minimize waste and ensure cost-effective operations.
- Maintain documentation as required for audits and licensing reviews.
Food Safety, Sanitation & Compliance
- Comply with all local, state, and federal food safety regulations and health department standards.
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, labeling, and temperature control.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils.
- Participate in inspections, audits, and corrective action processes as required.
Coordination & Oversight
- Collaborate with medical, clinical, and residential staff regarding patient dietary needs and meal schedules.
- Communicate supply needs, equipment concerns, and compliance issues to administration promptly.
- May oversee kitchen assistants, patients assigned to kitchen duties, or volunteers, as permitted by licensing regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Work Environment:
This job operates mostly in a licensed kitchen environment. This role routinely uses standard kitchen equipment such as oven, stove, mixer, steamer, warming station, etc. The dietary manager may work in the residential treatment environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
