CATV Installation Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CATV Installation Technician to join our team. This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting cable television systems and related telecommunication infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience in field service, heavy equipment operation, and electrical work, with a strong focus on fiber splicing, cabling, and network infrastructure. The technician will work on-site at various locations, utilizing tools such as bucket trucks, power tools, and hand tools to ensure high-quality service delivery. Duties

• Install and troubleshoot cable TV systems, including fiber optic splicing and wiring
• Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks for elevated work and construction tasks
• Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to run cabling for telecommunication networks
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals related to IT infrastructure and network systems
• Perform installation and maintenance of LAN, Ethernet, WAN, telephony, and low voltage electrical systems
• Climb ladders or poles safely to access installation points
• Conduct testing of network infrastructure including Ethernet and fiber connections to ensure optimal performance
• Maintain detailed records of work performed and adhere to safety protocols during all operations
• Assist in the setup of telecommunication systems including schematics for IT infrastructure projects

Qualifications

• Proven experience in field service for telecommunications or cable installation
• Strong background in electrical experience, construction, or related technical fields
• Ability to operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks safely and effectively
• Skilled in fiber splicing, cabling, and working with low voltage electrical systems
• Familiarity with computer networking concepts including LAN, Ethernet, WAN, and network infrastructure
• Experience with schematics reading and interpreting technical diagrams
• Ability to climb ladders or poles safely for elevated installations
• Knowledge of telephony systems and IT infrastructure setup is preferred
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in troubleshooting complex systems
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record is preferred for travel between job sites

Pay: $ $30.93 per hour
