Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, development, and construction of automated equipment for our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with expertise in automation systems, robotics, and custom machinery. This role involves hands-on work from concept to completion, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, efficient solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and engineer automated systems, including mechanical components, assemblies, and prototypes using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Oversee the building, testing, and iteration of equipment to meet customer specifications and performance standards.
- Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and analyses (e.g., FEA, stress/thermal analysis) to optimize designs for reliability, cost, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers, software developers, and project managers to integrate mechanical systems with controls and automation software.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues during prototyping, manufacturing, and deployment phases.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality assurance processes.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 7+ years of professional experience in mechanical design and automation engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
- Proven track record in designing and building automated equipment, such as robotic systems, conveyors, or custom machinery.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAE tools, 3D modeling, and simulation software.
- Strong knowledge of materials science, manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC machining, 3D printing, welding), and automation technologies (e.g., PLCs, sensors, actuators).
- Experience with project management, from ideation to production rollout.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred: PE license, experience in industries like manufacturing, logistics, or precision equipment.
