Job Overview
We are growing and have an immediate opening for a Child and Adolescent Therapist to join our team in Blount County at our Oneonta location. This position primarily involves in-office clinical work, with opportunities for telehealth and limited in-home services as appropriate.
The ideal candidate is passionate about working with children, adolescents, and families, and brings experience addressing developmental disabilities, mental health concerns, family conflict, and substance use challenges. This role requires strong clinical judgment, a client-centered approach, and the ability to provide both individual and family therapy across a broad range of presenting issues. While the primary focus is on youth and families, the therapist may also see adults as needed.
The Therapist will work collaboratively with clients to develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans that support healing, resilience, and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations to assess client needs and inform treatment planning
- Provide individual, couples, and family therapy using evidence-based therapeutic interventions
- Implement effective behavior management strategies tailored to each client's unique circumstances
- Maintain timely, accurate, and ethical clinical documentation of treatment progress and outcomes
- Collaborate with the clinical team through regular staff meetings to support coordinated, high-quality care
- Engage in ongoing professional development and clinical learning to enhance therapeutic effectiveness
- Educate clients and families on treatment options, coping strategies, and available community resources
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy
- Current Alabama licensure as an LPC, LICSW, or LMFT (required)
- Demonstrated experience providing clinical services to diverse populations and presenting concerns
- Knowledge of diagnostic evaluation processes and behavior management strategies
- Experience with couples and family therapy models
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport across age groups
- Availability to work 2–3 evenings per week, with the last session ending at 6:00 p.m. on those days
