Certified Veterinary Technician

Job Overview

Shiloh Veterinary Hospital is seeking a full-time Certified Veterinary Technician to join our team. This position is open only to technicians who have passed the VTNE and currently hold an active CVT, RVT, or LVT license (credential title varies by state).

We are an AAHA-accredited, Fear Free Certified practice committed to exceptional medicine, compassionate care, and a supportive team environment. Our technicians are utilized to the full extent of their training and licensure.

Schedule Requirements

• Full-time position
• Willingness to work at both York and Dover locations
• Every other Saturday (8:00 am – 12:00 pm)
• Evening shifts until 6:30 pm (minimum of three per week)
• No overnight or on-call shifts

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures
• Induce, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia
• Perform laboratory diagnostics (bloodwork, urinalysis, cytology, etc.)
• Obtain and process digital radiographs, including dental X-rays
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
• Monitor patient vital signs and comfort during procedures and hospitalization
• Perform dental cleanings and assist with advanced dental procedures
• Provide safe and effective animal handling and restraint
• Educate clients on patient care, post-operative instructions, and preventive medicine
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure a clean, organized treatment environment

Required Qualifications

• Active CVT, RVT, or LVT license (required)
• Successful completion of the VTNE (required)
• Strong knowledge of veterinary nursing skills, anesthesia, diagnostics, and patient care
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Commitment to Fear Free handling and high standards of patient care
• Must pass a background check and drug screening

Applicants without an active veterinary technician license will not be considered for this position.
