Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, maintaining a sterile environment, and ensuring smooth patient flow. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting that emphasizes patient care, infection control, and the use of advanced dental technology. Prior experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is preferred, along with knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive dental services across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics.

Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, endodontics, extractions, and pediatric dentistry.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
  • Take dental X-rays while adhering to proper aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
  • Record vital signs and medical history information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
  • Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical records, and scheduling follow-up appointments.
  • Provide chairside assistance using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security.
  • Operate advanced imaging equipment including 3D scanners when necessary for diagnosis or treatment planning.
  • Support the dental team with administrative tasks related to medical coding, documentation, and record keeping as needed.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting; experience with dental assisting procedures is preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; proficiency in medical documentation and records management is again preferred but can be taught on the job.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
  • Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards.
  • Understanding of pediatric dentistry principles is a plus; experience working with children is preferred.
  • Certification or training in chairside assisting, medical imaging, or related fields is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism. This position offers an engaging work environment where your skills directly contribute to patient health and comfort while supporting the overall success of our practice.

Pay: $ $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
