Description

 The Line Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality food in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining Brickstone Brewhouse's standards for taste, presentation, and cleanliness. This role requires teamwork, attention to detail, and a passion for crafting exceptional dishes to complement Brickstone's elevated tavern experience. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Food Preparation & Cooking: 

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards. 
  • Ensure all dishes are presented with consistency and attention to detail. 
  • Monitor food quality and freshness, making adjustments as needed.

 Station Maintenance: 

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked station during service. 
  • Set up and break down your station before and after shifts, ensuring readiness for the next service. 

Collaboration & Communication: 

  • Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service, particularly during high-volume periods. 
  • Communicate effectively with the Sous Chef and Executive Chef regarding inventory, preparation needs, and any issues. 

Safety & Cleanliness: 

  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures. 
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, including regular deep cleaning tasks.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • At least 2-3  years of experience in a  casual or fine dinning establishment. 
  • Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a high-volume or upscale casual restaurant. 
  • ServSafe or equivalent certification.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently stand, walk, and lift up to 25 pounds. 
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring stooping or reaching.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-heat environment for extended periods.
