We are currently seeking an accomplished Sr. Highway Project Manager to join our Baltimore office and lead impactful projects within our Transportation Business Line.

What You'll Do:
In this role, you'll oversee the planning, design, and delivery of roadway, sidewalk, and intersection projects, including urban and rural highways, interstates, interchanges, traffic management systems, and ADA-compliant infrastructure. You'll play a key role in shaping communities through innovative and resilient transportation design.
As a licensed Professional Engineer with 10+ years of progressive experience, you'll bring proven expertise in highway design, DOT/SHA standards, and project management. You'll lead teams of engineers and technicians, mentor junior staff, collaborate with subconsultants, and serve as a trusted partner to clients. This is an opportunity to take ownership of complex, high-profile transportation projects while contributing to a culture that values flexibility, growth, and professional excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and be involved with the design of various types of highway, bridge and traffic projects, including urban and rural roadways, interstates, interchanges, traffic management, transportation planning, highway safety, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometric layout, MOT, and ADA compliance projects.
- Develop deliverables and provide quality control for all stages of a project, including preliminary layouts, final plans, reports, specifications, and estimates.
- Oversee the work of Design Engineers and Engineering Technicians.
- Coordinate and work with other design teams and assess the activities and deliverables of the various subconsultants and disciplines associated with the project.
- Develop and mentor the highway engineering skillsets of entry level design engineers.
- Interact and coordinate with clients, team members, and subconsultants to successfully deliver projects.
- Crucial to this position is an emphasis on unwavering professionalism with clients, staff, and subconsultants.
What You'll Bring:
- BSCE (required), MSCE (a plus).
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required.
- 10+ years' progressive experience in a combination of highway design and project management responsibilities.
- Preliminary and Final design experience with DOT SHA projects, specifications, and guidelines required.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience using MicroStation (preferred), AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
- Demonstrated experience with roadway modeling (Inroads, OpenRoads).
- Demonstrated experience with AASHTO Policy's and Guidelines.
- Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills required.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver challenging projects.
- Ability to work on simultaneous task assignments.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead and work within teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to author proposals.
- Ability to work effectively with little supervision.
- Professionalism appropriate to represent PRIME to clients.
