Accounting Coordinator
to work in our Lexington, KY office.

Responsibilities
What we expect… (Essential Functions)

  • Prepare, review, and record payroll-related entries from the UKG payroll system into the cloud-based accounting/ERP system, including wages, taxes, benefits, garnishments, and other payroll-related liabilities.
  • Prepare detailed payroll job cost allocations, ensuring labor, benefits, and payroll taxes are accurately assigned to projects and cost codes.
  • Reconcile payroll job cost entries to the general ledger to ensure timely and accurate job cost reporting for a large-scale general contractor.
  • Maintain general ledger mappings between UKG and the ERP system to ensure accurate and consistent payroll reporting.
  • Maintain trade codes and labor charge rates within the ERP system related to payroll processing.
  • Record monthly and annual job cost allocation entries related to payroll tax adjustments based on estimated and actual amounts.
  • Audit employee timesheets for accuracy, proper approvals, and correct project/job cost coding; research and complete reclassifications of incorrectly coded labor hours
  • Collaborate with the payroll team to maintain accurate tax locations and compliance for field and multi-state employees.
  • Maintain the employee data interface between UKG and the ERP system, including hires, terminations, and employee updates.
  • Monitor shared payroll and accounting inboxes to resolve issues related to approvals, timesheet corrections, labor coding, and payroll adjustments.
  • Review vendor invoices for proper coding, approvals, and compliance with internal controls.
  • Processes internal accounts payable transactions, including entering invoices and issuing manual checks.
  • Provide backup and support to Senior Accountants and assist with month-end and year-end close activities as needed.
  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures for functions performed
  • Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications
Who we want… (Requirements)
The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one (1) year accounting experience in the construction industry, or two (2) years related experience. This person must be physically present for work in the Lexington office with the potential for a hybrid remote work schedule.

Must possess proficient computer skills including the ability to utilize a cloud-based integrated accounting system, complex Excel spreadsheets, word processing and e-mail applications. CMIC experience or other construction cloud-based software knowledge a plus. Other requirements include strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills with attention to detail, the ability to solve problems and have a comprehensive knowledge of GAAP.

Generally, normal office environment where noise level is moderate, and temperature/humidity is controlled. Overtime may be required.
