About the Role

Branded Cities is seeking an IT Manager to lead and evolve technology operations in a high-visibility, fast-paced Digital Out-of-Home (DOOH) media environment. This role is designed for a technically strong leader who enjoys being close to the work, solving complex operational problems, while also shaping systems, standards, and an IT function that scales with the business.

Reporting to the VP of Digital & Innovations, this role sits at the intersection of enterprise IT, media delivery, live campaigns, and client-facing execution. Technology performance here is highly visible, measurable, and directly tied to revenue, brand trust, and client success. This is not a traditional back-office IT role; it is a frontline technology leadership position.

This is a role for someone who wants to own real systems, solve visible problems, and see the direct business impact of their technical decisions.

The Challenge & Opportunity

Digital Out-of-Home media presents a uniquely demanding technology environment. Systems must perform reliably across geographically distributed displays, often in real-world conditions, with strict delivery timelines and little tolerance for downtime.

As IT Manager, you will:

  • Own the reliability and performance of enterprise and media delivery systems
  • Balance day-to-day technical execution with longer-term operational maturity
  • Support evolving digital, interactive, and live media experiences
  • Build resilient systems that scale as Branded Cities' digital footprint grows

Key Responsibilities

Hands-On Technology Leadership

  • Act as the senior escalation point for complex technical issues across endpoints, networks, infrastructure, and media platforms
  • Personally diagnose and resolve high-impact technical problems when required
  • Set priorities, delegate effectively, and ensure consistent execution across the IT function

Infrastructure, Security & Reliability

  • Own the operational health of enterprise IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, endpoints, cloud services, and identity
  • Maintain backup, disaster recovery, monitoring, and preventative maintenance programs
  • Proactively identify risks and implement improvements related to performance, security, and scalability
  • Ensure systems consistently meet the demands of live campaigns and operational service levels

Digital Out-of-Home Media Operations

  • Support hardware and software platforms that deliver content to large-format digital displays
  • Work with Operations to troubleshoot playback, scheduling, proof-of-performance, and live event related issues
  • Monitor display health and proactively address outages, connectivity issues, or performance degradation
  • Partner closely with Digital Operations to enable dynamic, interactive, and next-generation media experiences

Team & Vendor Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop internal IT staff
  • Coordinate and manage third-party vendors, service providers, and technology partners
  • Establish clear standards, documentation, and processes as systems and team scale

Business & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Translate business, operational, and client requirements into practical technology solutions
  • Provide technical input during client-facing initiatives and technology-driven sales efforts
  • Collaborate across departments to enable innovation without compromising stability

Technology Landscape (Representative)

  • Microsoft 365, Entra ID / Azure AD
  • Windows 11 endpoints and Windows Server environments
  • Cloud and on-prem hybrid infrastructure
  • Endpoint management and patching solutions
  • Monitoring, alerting, and backup platforms
  • Digital signage and media content delivery systems

Exact platforms may evolve; adaptability and sound engineering judgment matter most.

Experience, Skills & Attributes

Required

  • 5 to 8+ years of progressive experience in IT operations, systems administration, or infrastructure support
  • Proven success as a hands-on technical leader guiding other technical contributors
  • Strong experience supporting modern Windows environments and enterprise productivity platforms in distributed or uptime-critical systems
  • Experience coordinating vendors or managed service providers
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred

  • Experience supporting digital media, digital signage, or geographically distributed technology environments
  • VOIP and telecommunications systems experience
  • Exposure to live event support or other mission-critical environments where downtime has direct business impact
  • Comfort operating in fast-paced, evolving technical environments
  • Curiosity and comfort exploring how emerging technologies, including AI‑enabled tools, can improve operational efficiency, visibility, or reliability when applied thoughtfully and responsibly.

Work Environment

  • Onsite role requiring hands-on interaction with hardware, displays, and infrastructure
  • Flexibility to support after-hours maintenance, live events, and urgent issue resolution
  • Ability to safely lift and move technical equipment as part of normal duties
