Were seeking a Safety Director who is dedicated and experienced, self-managing, customer-focused, and brand-conscious - all while remaining ready to act decisively in emergencies. This is for a full-time, permanent position in the Raleigh, NC area. This role involves ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety (OSH) guidelines across multiple client sites. The ideal candidate will join us to foster a culture of safety, trust, and practical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage safety programs across 45 client accounts, each with multiple project sites, ensuring consistent standards and responsive support.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and contractors by being personable, action-oriented, and solutions-focused in daily interactions.
  • Travel approximately 15% of the time, with 75% of work performed in the field and 25% in the office.
  • Act as main liaison for client accounts, building trust and rapport while strengthening programs and fostering continuous improvement
  • Identify opportunities for program improvement, research ideas, and present practical solutions to clientele to ensure OSHA compliance - all while respecting time, budget, and site constraints.
  • Review and provide guidance on site-specific safety plans and crane lift plans to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Conduct site inspections for existing and potential incident and health hazards, determine corrective or preventative measures, and follow up to ensure implementation.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including daily inspection reports, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and incident reports.
  • Lead investigations of all reported injuries, illnesses, and near-miss events, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Represent ESR in industry associations, community safety initiatives, and professional safety forums to promote best practices and strengthen partnerships.

Qualifications

  • OSHA 500 credentials (required)
  • CHST credential (preferred)
  • 2-5 years of construction experience (required)
  • Field safety experience - 5 years (required)
  • Ability to travel up to 15% to support client sites.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
  • Ability to manage an onsite team of site safety professionals
Experience and License Requirements
  • 2-5 years of Construction Experience
  • 5 Years of Field Safety Experience
  • CHST (optional)
