Position Summary
The Production Supervisor will be responsible for scheduling and manufacturing products at their facility. This position will perform and/or delegate and perform duties that are assigned by the Plant Manager.
Salary
$72,000/year - $83,000/year
Schedule
Training: 3-6 months 4:30am – 4:00pm Monday – Friday
After Training: 7:00pm – 4:30am Monday - Friday
Essential Responsibilities
Ensures products are produced in a safe, efficient, timely and cost-conscious manner.
Promotes and ensures a culture of safety and quality exists.
Manages staff, prepares work schedules, assigns specific duties; updates the daily work schedule and adjusts for and communicates production needs, and workforce.
Reviews, approves, and/or initiates purchase orders for materials and other supplies for the manufacturing area.
Works with the Plant Manager and the Inventory Control Manager to ensure facility layout and product movement adequately meets safety and organizational requirements.
Assesses training needs of new hires or new departmental transfers and arranges for or provides training to ensure accurate and efficient operations.
Evaluates employee performance and conducts probationary and annual performance reviews.
Ensures day to day functions are covered with an active cross training program.
Maintains a clean, organized, work area for all equipment operation and follows all safety procedures.
Ensures appropriate maintenance and cleaning schedules are developed and adhered to for production equipment.
Reviews customer complaint log for manufacturing related issues following up with investigation and corrective action.
Formulates, implements, and maintains compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Corrects unsafe conditions in work area and reports any which are not correctable to the Plant Manager.
Provides coverage as needed in other areas within or outside of the department.
May work overtime, alternate shifts and weekends as needed on short notice.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications (Required)
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Ability to functionally use a personal computer to perform detailed inquiries, update information, print reports, create, and modify items daily (i.e.: Microsoft products, WMS/ERP System).
Ability to read drawings and blueprints and the use of CAD a plus.
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
Capability to communicate efficiently with all levels of employees, management, customers, and vendors both verbally and in written form.
Capacity to multi-task with speed and accuracy while prioritizing tasks and ability to maintain excellent organizational skills to effectively troubleshoot and problem-solve.
Ability to obtain and keep a Powered Industrial Truck license.
Use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and company approved tools while remaining aware of hazards and maintaining a safe work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
3 to 5 years' experience in manufacturing in a leadership or supervisory role.
Post-secondary education in a technical field.
Travel Requirements
Occasional overnight travel may be expected.
