Job Description:
We are an established manufacturing company that is looking to fill one full-time Assistant Plant Manager/ Production Supervisor position.. In this position, your primary responsibility is to manage the 1st shift production and ensure that all outgoing products produced and shipped meet our tight quality guidelines. This is a leadership position, and candidates will not only manage, but train. Job responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Responsibilities Include:
- Lead production employees by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, appraising job results, disciplining employees and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure facility has properly trained and skilled staff.
- Assisting with process improvement and cost reduction activities.
- Monitor production KPI's by compiling, initiating, and analyzing production performance and data.
- Anticipating safety, quality and productivity problems in work areas and take immediate action to correct unsafe conditions or actions.
- Responsible for proper handling and disposal of all chemicals and ensures employees are appropriately trained in recognizing hazards associated and specific to their job.
- Assists in conducting risk assessments on new and/or modified equipment.
- Conducts performance appraisals for employees
- Maintains vacation, overtime, training schedules.
- Analyzes daily/weekly production reports.
- Provides constructive feedback to all employees regularly.
- Establishes individual development plans by determining needed skills and knowledge.
- Responsible for maintaining and developing team morale.
Minimum Requirements
- Must have 5 years of manufacturing leadership experience.
- Possess high degree of knowledge in manufacturing.
- Communication skills in order to work with employees and internal and external contacts.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for successful performance of job duties
- Ability to lead and develop others through support, training, etc.
- Strong leadership skills to manage, prioritize and deal with many issues at one time.
Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, and kneeling all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
