Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Aide to join our healthcare team. This role provides essential support in delivering patient-centered care with outpatient clients. The ideal candidate will assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans, ensuring smooth clinic operations, and enhancing patient experience. Prior experience in hospital or clinic environments, especially within orthopedics, geriatrics, or sub-acute care, is highly valued. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic healthcare setting while contributing to patient recovery and well-being.
Duties
- Assist physical therapists with patient intake procedures and prepare treatment areas for therapy sessions
- Support patients during exercises and mobility activities under supervision
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of therapy equipment and treatment spaces
- Document patient progress and report any concerns to supervising therapists
- Help with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control standards
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions and fostering a welcoming environment
- Support inpatient, outpatient, orthopedics, geriatrics, and post-acute care services as needed
Requirements
- Prior experience in hospital, clinic, or outpatient settings preferred, especially in orthopedics or geriatrics
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy (Degree of Exercise Science preferred, but not required)
- Strong patient service skills with a caring and professional demeanor
- Experience with acute care, inpatient, or post-acute care environments is advantageous
- Ability to assist with intake procedures and support patients during therapy sessions
- Familiarity with hospital medicine and sub-acute care practices preferred
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Must be organized, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff
Pay: $ $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
