Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise store staff, including hiring, training, coaching, and motivating team members to achieve sales targets and deliver top-tier customer service.
- Oversee daily store operations such as inventory management, stock replenishment, merchandising, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Manage sales processes using POS (Point of Sale) systems, handle cash transactions accurately, and perform cashiering duties when needed.
- Develop and implement effective marketing strategies to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
- Ensure proper inventory control, purchasing procedures, pricing accuracy, and stock organization to optimize store efficiency.
- Support shift management by coordinating schedules, overseeing opening/closing procedures, and ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Uphold excellent customer service standards by addressing inquiries promptly and resolving issues effectively.
- Maintain organized records related to payroll, bookkeeping, employee orientation, training & development initiatives.
Experience
- Proven experience in retail management or assistant management roles with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Previous wine knowledge a plus.
- Strong background in retail sales techniques, inventory management, merchandising, and POS systems.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate teams and build rapport with customers from diverse backgrounds; multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Experience in supervising staff.
- Knowledge of cashiering procedures, cash handling protocols, payroll processing, and bookkeeping practices.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in liquor stores or specialty retail environments is advantageous but not mandatory.
