Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Art Preschool Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate has experience working with young children and a love for introducing art in developmentally appropriate, hands-on ways. This role focuses on fostering creativity, self-expression, and fine motor development while supporting the social, emotional, and cognitive growth of preschool-aged children. The Art Teacher will create an inviting, process-based art environment where children feel confident exploring materials, techniques, and their own creativity.
Responsibilities
- Implement engaging, age-appropriate art lessons that emphasize creativity, exploration, and process over product.
- Introduce a variety of art mediums and techniques (painting, drawing, sculpture, collage, sensory art, etc.) in a safe and accessible way.
- Manage classroom behavior positively while encouraging cooperation, independence, and respect for materials.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment for all children, including those with special needs or autism.
- Support fine motor development, sensory exploration, and self-expression through intentional art activities.
- Observe and assess student engagement and development, adjusting lessons to meet individual needs and abilities.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers to align art activities with classroom themes and school-wide curriculum.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inspiring art space, ensuring materials are properly prepared and stored.
Requirements
- Experience working with preschool-aged children in an educational or childcare setting.
- A strong interest in art education and early childhood development (formal art training is a plus but not required).
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices, especially related to fine motor skills and sensory learning.
- Ability to create an inclusive and encouraging environment for children with diverse learning needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Creative, patient, responsible, and enthusiastic about nurturing young artists.
- Experience in private schools, art programs, or early childhood settings is a plus but not required.
