We are currently seeking Elementary STAAR Reading tutors for grades 3-5 from January to April 2026 with the qualifications described below.

Qualifications:
- A current Texas teacher certification in Elementary Education (EC-6), Reading (4-8), or related content area.
- 3+ years of relevant teaching experience in elementary reading and/or ELA.
- 2 to 3 professional references who can speak to your effectiveness as a classroom instructor, including a Principal or Assistant Principal.
- Verified passage of a background check via a Texas school district or similar entity within the last 3 years.
- Strong knowledge of the 3rd to 5th grade Reading TEKS standards.
- Successful STAAR Reading student achievement scores.
- Availability to tutor 3 days per week across 10 to 11 weeks during school hours for 4 to 6 hours per day in North Houston (Spring).
- Experience with small group interventions and test preparation strategies that have been proven to increase student achievement.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and utilize data to drive interventions.
- Ability to build strong relationships with students and staff quickly.
Consultant (Tutor) will be expected to:
- Create and implement individualized student support plans focused on STAAR Reading readiness.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
- Utilize data to identify student learning growth and/or mastery as well as areas for improvement.
- Implement targeted interventions aligned to STAAR Reading objectives.
- Manage student behavior in tutorial groups.
Job Type: Contract
Schedule: January to April 2026, 10-11 weeks, 3 visits per week, 4 to 6 hours per visit
