The Role

Our client is hiring Senior and Principal IT/OT Engineers to join their growing IT/OT Solutions team. These roles span the full technical lifecycle - from concept and architecture through delivery, deployment, and ongoing support.

You will gain broad exposure across modern IT, ICS, and OT environments, working with innovative startups and large industrial and biotech organisations alike. Principal-level engineers will act as technical authorities, providing architectural leadership, mentoring teams, and guiding complex, multi-discipline programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver and support solutions across IT, ICS, and OT environments, including:
• Virtualization, networking, storage, and cloud platforms
• Cybersecurity tools and architectures
• DCS, PLC, MES platforms, databases, and server infrastructure
• Lead multi-discipline technical scopes from concept, proposal, and design through implementation and close-out
• Act as technical lead for virtualization, networking, and service infrastructure initiatives
• Serve as a customer-facing technical expert, translating complex requirements into clear, practical solutions
• Author functional specifications and high-level design documentation
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies
• Work closely with Project Management to ensure delivery against scope, budget, schedule, and quality
• Train and mentor junior engineers (Senior & Principal levels)
• Support system deployments, including occasional hands-on hardware activities
• Travel primarily within New York and New England, with limited additional US or international travel

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• 5+ years experience (Senior) or 8–10+ years experience (Principal) in IT / ICS / OT engineering
• Proven experience designing, building, and deploying networked infrastructure in stakeholder-facing roles
• Huge advantage if have experience/ knowledge of DeltaV
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Experience leading technical infrastructure projects
• Hands-on experience with several of the following:
• Network infrastructure: routers, switches, firewalls, access points
• Operating systems: Windows, Linux, Unix
• Virtualization: VMware, Hyper-V
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP
• Databases: SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL
• Cybersecurity: firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM
• Industrial systems: DCS, PLCs, HMIs
• Industrial protocols: Modbus, Profinet, EtherNet/IP

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $110,000 – $190,000, dependent on experience and seniority
