Own the accuracy, safety, and timeliness of the shipping and receiving function while championing continuous improvement and world-class customer service.

Key responsibilities
  • Prepare outbound freight: build wooden crates or choose the correct carton, add spacers/fillers/padding, secure and seal, then label or stencil shipment details.
  • Record weights and freight/postage charges; apply postage as needed.
  • Select shipping methods using knowledge of carriers, routes, and rates.
  • Receive and inspect inbound goods: unpack, verify contents, reject damaged items, record shortages, and resolve issues directly with shippers.
  • Verify outbound orders meet specifications prior to dispatch.
  • Collect and deliver internal mail; route items to the proper departments.
  • Log all receipts and issues into the computer system promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly work area.
  • Drive inventory accuracy: record all transactions in the system, investigate any package not received or not logged each day, and file packing slips daily.
  • Support cost control efforts through recycling and other efficiencies.
  • Locate packages quickly for internal customers.
  • Respond to urgent needs: make emergency deliveries when required.
  • Scan parts for cleaning-room processing; stage components in bins and pull them when repairs are ready.
  • Move materials with a tier-lift (powered industrial vehicle) or hand truck; lead others in preparing outbound and receiving inbound shipments when needed.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of entry-level colleagues.
  • Engage in the ATS Culture Initiative; pursue process improvement, use metrics to monitor performance, complete quality core training, apply new skills, uphold The Core Values, and follow all safety procedures.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED plus three (3) years of related experience; or an equivalent blend of education and experience.
  • Intermediate data-entry proficiency and strong customer-relations skills.
  • Proper lifting technique knowledge.
  • Able to obtain Powered Industrial Vehicle Certification.
  • Valid driver's license; clean, reliable driving record.
  • Fundamental communication and math abilities: read/understand short instructions, write simple correspondence, present information in small groups; compute with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to execute detailed, straightforward instructions and solve problems with a few standardized variables.
Preferred
  • Team-focused, organized, self-motivated, and skilled at prioritization.

Physical requirements and conditions
  • Frequent standing, walking, manual handling with hands/fingers, reaching, and verbal communication.
  • Climbing/balancing that may require ladders or lifts; occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling in confined areas.
  • Occasional sitting.
  • Occasional lifting/moving of items exceeding 50 lbs.
  • Regular use of close and color vision.
  • Occasional exposure to outdoor weather and risk of electrical shock.
  • Loud factory environment with possible exposure to hazardous materials and greasy or slippery floors.
