Proximity to an RS plant is required
to support on-site collaboration and operational needs. While some flexibility exists, this is not a fully remote role.
Role Overview
The
Senior Project Engineer Manager
is accountable for the
technical and commercial execution of large, complex capital investment projects
within manufacturing environments. These projects typically range from
$5M to $60M
and include material handling systems, utilities, abatement systems, and electrical controls.
This role leads cross-functional teams and works closely with plant leadership, engineering disciplines, procurement, and external contractors to ensure projects are delivered
safely, on time, within budget, and to specification
.
Key Responsibilities
- Own all
technical and commercial aspects
of assigned capital projects - Develop and manage:
- Project scope
- Budgets and forecasts
- Schedules and timelines
- Prepare
equipment and work specifications - Select materials, equipment, contractors, and project resources
- Lead
cross-functional project teams
, including: - Plant personnel
- Discipline engineers
- Procurement
- External engineering and construction contractors
- Ensure designs are reviewed for
scope, safety, quality, functionality, and cost - Manage
contractor bid processes
and contract execution - Negotiate changes and manage scope adjustments
- Report project status to the
project steering team
, supporting decision-making at each phase - Support multiple project phases from concept through commissioning
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
(Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical) - 5+ years
of engineering experience in
industrial or manufacturing environments - Proven
project management experience
with projects up to
$25M - Strong experience managing
contractors and subcontractors - Experience preparing:
- Cost estimates
- Schedules
- Project deliverables
- Demonstrated ability to
negotiate and manage change - Willingness to travel extensively (
30%–60%
)
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to
SAP systems - Experience working in multi-site manufacturing organizations
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
