Position Summary
The primary function of a Dispatcher is to direct and coordinate the ordering and delivery of materials to customers in the day-to-day operations. The Dispatcher adheres to and promotes corporate policies and manages the general use of equipment, trucks, delivery personnel, and materials. This employee directs all activities that concern delivery, warehouse, and facilities.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for the fast, accurate processing of sales orders, setting up job information, confirming orders, and producing appropriate reports that support sales order processing
- Process credit memos on the computer
- Assist customers with will call orders
- Supervise stocking crews, conduct performance reviews and employee orientation, and coordinate driver training
- Schedule and dispatch crews to maximize time efficiency and monitor labor costs on each job
- Compute payroll accurately and on time
- Train new stockers on how to perform jobs safely and correctly
- Complete new hire and training paperwork in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance with VCR program
- Responsible for triple count and job completer programs
- Maintain front counter, office/dispatch, restroom, and yard/warehouse cleanliness
- Ensure that trucks are clean
- Perform job duties in a safe manner
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- College degree preferred
- Minimum of two years of related work experience
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to quickly and accurately perform basic math skills
- Ability to quickly read a road or geographical map and communicate directions
- Strong organizational skills demonstrated in job performance
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions with limited guidance

- Communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing, with coworkers and customers
Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain in a stationary position in an office environment approximately 80% of the time
- Occasional movement within the office to access files and office machinery
- Ability to operate basic office machinery
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management

- Ability to manage stress related to deadlines and ongoing projects
