Traveling Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
Premier Wash Systems is seeking a highly skilled Traveling Maintenance Technician to support its portfolio of Tommy's Express Car Wash locations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring all sites are maintained to Tommy's Express standards, remain fully operational, and follow established preventative maintenance schedules. The ideal candidate is hands-on, mechanically inclined, cost-conscious, and comfortable traveling extensively to support multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Travel regularly to car wash locations across the Premier Wash Systems portfolio to:
• Ensure preventative maintenance programs are being performed correctly and consistently
• Audit and verify compliance with maintenance schedules at each site
• Troubleshoot maintenance and equipment issues remotely with Site Managers and on-site staff
• Respond to escalated maintenance issues by traveling to the site to:
• Diagnose and repair equipment
• Train Site Managers and team members on proper maintenance procedures
• Ensure the wash is operating at or near 100% uptime
• Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs on car wash equipment, including but not limited to:
• Mechanical systems
• Conveyors and tunnel equipment
• Pumps, motors, and blowers
• Monitor repair and maintenance activities with an emphasis on:
• Cost control
• Proper vendor usage
• Minimizing downtime
• Provide clear communication and documentation regarding site conditions, repairs completed, and follow-up needs
• Assist in standardizing maintenance practices across all locations
• Be available for night and weekend work or emergency travel as needed to ensure continued operation

Experience

• Maintenance, mechanical, or industrial repair background strongly preferred
• Welding skills required
• Working knowledge of:
• General plumbing systems
• Electrical systems (troubleshooting and basic repair)
• Experience with car wash equipment, industrial equipment, or similar mechanical systems preferred
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while traveling
• Excellent communication skills and ability to train and support site-level leadership
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to travel extensively (75–80%) with overnight stays
• Full- time, nights and weekends as needed

Work Environment

• Active, hands-on role in outdoor and industrial environments
• Requires physical work, including lifting, bending, standing, and working around mechanical equipment
• Travel-heavy position supporting multiple operating locations
