Tow Truck Operator

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Tow Truck Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently towing vehicles, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining the operational readiness of tow trucks. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive systems, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism. The Tow Truck Operator plays a vital role in ensuring customer satisfaction and vehicle safety during roadside assistance and recovery operations.

Duties

• Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and other specialized vehicles, to recover and transport vehicles safely.
• Perform automotive diagnostics and basic repairs when necessary to ensure proper vehicle handling.
• Load and unload vehicles using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or winches while adhering to safety protocols.
• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting clients professionally during stressful situations.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on tow trucks to ensure operational efficiency.
• Manage conflict or difficult interactions with customers or other parties calmly and effectively.
• Maintain accurate records of all towing operations, including vehicle details and locations.
• Follow all safety procedures related to vehicle recovery, traffic management, and equipment use.

Experience

• Prior experience operating tow trucks, especially flatbed or heavy-duty tow trucks, is highly preferred.
• Mechanical knowledge of automotive systems, including diagnostics, repair, manual transmissions, and automotive repair skills.
• Experience with commercial driving licenses (CDL) is advantageous.
• Familiarity with automotive diagnostics, automotive repair, and mechanic experience is a plus.
• Skills in conflict management and customer service are essential for handling diverse situations professionally.
• Ability to operate forklifts or similar equipment for loading/unloading vehicles is beneficial.
• Previous experience with driving in various conditions and load & unload operations will support success in this role.
