Housekeeper

Bell Tower Residence is a not-for-profit, highly respected community-based residential facility (CBRF). We have a reputation for providing quality care to seniors in Merrill and the surrounding communities for more than 30 years. Located in the city of Merrill, we are a short 20-minute drive from the Wausau.

We're seeking a housekeeper who is a hard-working, dedicated and energetic individual interested in joining our team of housekeepers. This is a part-time position with hours from approximately 7:30am - 4pm including weekends and holidays as needed.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of housekeeping tasks is preferred.
• Must be able to physically waist lift a maximum of 30#, with frequent waist lifting and/or overhead lifting of 20#. Must be able to push and/or pull with a maximum effort of 20#.
• Must be able to stand or walk 6-8 hours in an 8 hour day.
• Must be able to frequently bend, squat, and twist body during an 8 hour day.
• Knowledge of housekeeping equipment is preferred.
• Must be able to attend mandatory in-services and housekeeping department meetings.
• Must be able to read and write at an eighth grade level.
• Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.

Working Conditions:

• May be exposed to and work with chemicals such as detergents, disinfectants, furniture polish, window cleaner, etc.
• May be involved in tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids or mucous membranes on a routine daily basis.
• May be exposed to odors and infection.

Responsibilities:

• To keep the facility free from dust, dirt, odors and clutter
• To vacuum carpeted areas daily
• To sweep and wet mop floors daily
• To wet wipe vinyl chairs, over bed tables, bedside stands and window sills daily
• To dust furniture daily with polish
• To empty wastebaskets daily and replace plastic can liners
• To clean bathrooms daily including toilets, sinks and mirrors
• To replenish paper dispenser and soap dispensers when needed
• To clean windows as scheduled
• To water plants in the facility
• To sweep outdoor entry ways daily
• To inform supervisor of any needed supplies
• To restock housekeeping carts daily
• To change mop heads frequently during the day
• To change water in buckets frequently during the day
• To note needed repairs and report to supervisor
• To keep housekeeping room neat and clean
• To wash walls when needed
• To sanitize equipment according to the schedule
• To do laundry as needed

Starting wage: $15 / hour
