Our Des Moines, Iowa facility is looking for a skilled Forklift Operator to join our logistics team. You will be responsible for operating forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move materials, raw materials, and finished products within the warehouse. This role is vital for ensuring the efficient flow of goods, from receiving to shipping. The ideal candidate possesses a keen eye for detail, a strong commitment to safety, and experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will work collaboratively with team members to maintain operational efficiency and uphold our high standards for safety and productivity. Your expertise in forklift operation is key to our logistics success.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload shipments from trucks and other vehicles.
- Move products and materials between different areas of the warehouse.
- Stack and retrieve inventory using forklift.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on forklift equipment.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and protocols, including the use of required PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock rotation.
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to warehouse operations.
- Occasional lifting of items up to 35 lbs may be required.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid forklift operator certification.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of forklift operating experience in a warehouse or distribution setting.
- Proficiency in operating various types of forklifts.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety standards and logistics procedures.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial reasoning.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Must be able to perform tasks requiring occasional lifting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
