Are you detail-oriented and organized? We are seeking a skilled Shipping Clerk for our Houston, Texas location. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be responsible for managing the outbound shipment process, ensuring all orders are accurately prepared, documented, and dispatched on time. This role is critical to our logistics chain, requiring precision and efficiency. You will work closely with warehouse staff and carriers to coordinate outgoing freight. A strong understanding of shipping procedures, documentation, and a commitment to Safety are essential. We also require the consistent use of appropriate PPE to ensure your well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare outgoing shipments, verifying order details.
- Generate shipping labels and maintain accurate shipping records.
- Coordinate with carriers for pick-ups and deliveries.
- Ensure proper packaging and labeling of all outgoing goods.
- Communicate with customers and internal departments regarding shipment status.
- Operate shipping software and equipment.
- Adhere strictly to all Safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist in the warehouse as needed, including occasional Lifting.
- Maintain a tidy and organized shipping area.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of our logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role.
- Proficiency in shipping software and MS Office.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Must be able to wear and utilize required PPE.
- Familiarity with lifting and moving packages is expected.
