We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our Jacksonville, Florida logistics team. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for ensuring all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently, meeting all carrier requirements and company standards. This role is critical to our supply chain operations, requiring strong organizational skills and a commitment to accuracy. You will be the point person for preparing orders for dispatch and coordinating with carriers.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping labels and documentation for all outgoing orders.
- Verify shipment contents against orders to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and track shipments.
- Ensure packages are properly packaged, sealed, and labeled for safe transit.
- Operate shipping software and equipment (e.g., scales, printers).
- Communicate with internal departments regarding shipment status.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Wear appropriate PPE, including safety vests and gloves, as required by the work area.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency with shipping software and computer systems.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations and carrier requirements.
- Understanding of general warehouse and logistics operations.
- Commitment to safety and willingness to follow all safety protocols, including the use of PPE.
