Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick customer orders from warehouse shelves using handheld scanners or pick lists.
- Inspect items for damage or defects before packing.
- Pack orders securely and efficiently, selecting appropriate packaging materials.
- Label packages correctly for shipment.
- Stage packed orders for outgoing transport.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and contributing to overall warehouse tidiness.
- Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines and procedures, including the proper use of PPE .
- Perform quality checks to ensure order accuracy and prevent shipping errors.
- Meet or exceed established picking and packing performance metrics.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned, demonstrating versatility.
- Handle the physical requirements of the job, including frequent lifting of items up to 40 lbs.
- Learn and operate warehouse management systems (WMS) as required.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team atmosphere.
- Understand the importance of timely order fulfillment within the logistics framework.
- Ensure all PPE is used correctly and maintained in good condition.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Picker/Packer or in a similar warehouse role is desirable. High school diploma or GED required. Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions. Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs regularly. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Good organizational and time management skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines. Familiarity with warehouse safety practices and the use of PPE is essential. Understanding of inventory control and logistics principles is a plus.
