We are hiring a diligent Material Handler for our facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is vital to the efficient movement and storage of goods within our distribution center, forming a critical part of our **logistics** operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including receiving, stocking, and transferring materials, always prioritizing **safety** and accuracy. Responsibilities:
- Receive and inspect incoming inventory, verifying quantities and condition.
- Sort and store materials in designated warehouse locations according to **logistics** standards.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move inventory.
- Load and unload trucks and containers safely and efficiently.
- Transport materials between different areas of the warehouse as required.
- Participate in inventory cycle counts and assist in maintaining accurate records.
- Adhere to all **safety** policies and procedures, including proper use of **PPE**.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or **safety** hazards immediately.
- Assist with order picking and packing when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including heavy **lifting** (up to 60 lbs), pushing, pulling, and standing for long hours.
- Familiarity with warehouse **logistics** and inventory systems.
- Proficiency in operating manual and powered material handling equipment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Commitment to adhering to **safety** regulations and **PPE** guidelines.
