We are actively seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to enhance our logistics operations in Austin, Texas. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials within our warehouse. This role requires proficiency in operating various types of forklifts and a strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols, including load handling and stability. You will be instrumental in managing inventory flow, supporting receiving and shipping functions, and ensuring materials are stored correctly. A commitment to safety, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is paramount. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently to move, stack, load, and unload materials.
- Perform pre-operational checks on forklifts to ensure they are in safe working condition.
- Transport goods between different areas of the warehouse.
- Assist with receiving and put-away of incoming inventory.
- Stage outgoing orders for shipment.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through proper material handling and documentation.
- Identify and report any damaged goods, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards.
- Follow all warehouse safety rules and regulations, including traffic patterns and speed limits.
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times while operating equipment or in designated areas.
- Participate in inventory counts and other warehouse activities as needed.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safe forklift operating procedures and material handling techniques.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety standards and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to read and interpret pick lists, labels, and shipping documents.
- Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions:
This position requires working in a warehouse environment. The role involves constant operation of forklifts and movement of materials. Safety is non-negotiable, and strict adherence to all safety protocols, including the mandatory use of PPE, is required.
