We are seeking a reliable and efficient Material Handler to join our growing logistics team in Charlotte, North Carolina. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout our warehouse facility. Your duties will include operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and organizing materials within the warehouse. This position is crucial to the smooth operation of our distribution center, ensuring that products are moved accurately and on time. A strong commitment to safety is paramount, and you will be required to adhere to all company safety policies, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The role involves significant physical activity, including frequent lifting of items up to 50 lbs, and operating machinery. Excellent hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to tasks are essential. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and containers.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and other materials to and from designated areas.
- Stack and organize materials in designated locations, ensuring stability and safety.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on material handling equipment.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including counting and locating materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times while performing duties.
- Follow instructions and work effectively as part of the logistics team.
- Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions immediately.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or Forklift Operator preferred.
- Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Proficiency in operating various types of material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Good hand-eye coordination and physical stamina.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
