Join our thriving logistics team in Minneapolis, Minnesota as a Forklift Operator. We are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious individual to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is fundamental to the efficient operation of our distribution center, ensuring that goods are handled safely and effectively. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of operating forklifts in a warehouse setting and a strong understanding of material handling procedures. You will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, transporting materials to and from designated storage areas, and assisting with inventory management tasks. Safety is our top priority, and all operators must strictly adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position involves significant physical activity, including regular lifting of items and maneuvering in a busy warehouse environment. Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness are essential. Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate various types of forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach truck, etc.).
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport raw materials, finished products, and packaging materials throughout the warehouse.
- Stack and unstack pallets and materials to appropriate heights.
- Perform routine checks on forklift equipment and report any issues or necessary maintenance.
- Assist with inventory control by accurately locating and moving stock.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety standards.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Assist other departments with material handling as needed.
- Contribute to a culture of safety and operational efficiency within the logistics operations.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and inventory management.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring manual labor, including lifting and moving items.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes physically demanding environment.
- Good communication skills.
