We are seeking a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our busy logistics hub in Columbus, Ohio. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise. Your role is critical in maintaining the flow of goods within the warehouse, ensuring materials are in the right place at the right time. This position requires a keen eye for detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to operate various types of forklifts with precision. You will work closely with shipping and receiving teams, as well as inventory control personnel, to ensure smooth operations. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to transport materials, products, and equipment within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Stack and retrieve items from high shelves, ensuring stability and safety.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on forklifts to ensure they are in good working order.
- Follow all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of PPE.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movement.
- Assist with inventory counts and stocktaking as needed.
- Identify and report any damages to goods or equipment immediately.
- Contribute to a safe and efficient logistics operation through diligent work practices.
- Follow all lifting guidelines and safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification is required.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck).
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and practices.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects as required.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Knowledge of proper lifting techniques.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and using PPE.
- Experience in a logistics or warehousing setting is highly desirable.
