We are hiring a skilled Forklift Operator to join our state-of-the-art warehouse facility in San Jose, California. As a Forklift Operator, you will be instrumental in managing the movement of goods within our distribution center, ensuring the safe and efficient handling of products from receiving to shipping. This role demands precision, a keen eye for detail, and a strong commitment to workplace safety. Responsibilities:
- Operate various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move, stack, load, and unload materials safely and efficiently.
- Conduct daily pre-operation forklift inspections to ensure equipment is in good working order and report any defects immediately.
- Transport raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the warehouse and distribution center.
- Assist with order picking and fulfillment by retrieving items from storage locations using a forklift.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement of cargo.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements and ensure that all transactions are logged correctly in the warehouse management system.
- Adhere to all warehouse safety procedures and regulations, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free from obstructions to promote efficient logistics and prevent accidents.
- Collaborate with warehouse associates and supervisors to ensure smooth operations and meet daily targets.
- Perform other warehouse duties as required, contributing to the overall success of the team.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification or a minimum of 1 year of documented forklift operating experience.
- Proven ability to safely operate a forklift in a busy warehouse environment.
- Experience with manual Lifting and handling of products, up to 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and the correct use of PPE.
- Good spatial awareness and attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible hours and shifts as needed.
- Effective communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
