We're looking for an Accounting Manager to join our team. As the Accounting Manager, you will oversee the accounting function, managing daily accounting operations and ensuring the timely completion of tasks. Some key responsibilities include managing the monthly close process, reviewing journal entries, preparing reconciliations, and overseeing year-end audits.
What you'd be doing:

  • Prepare and present accurate financial reports for management, providing insights through analysis of financial data.
  • Collaborate across the finance team to ensure team goals are met.
  • Maintain internal controls to safeguard the organization's assets and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
  • Work closely with other departments to align financial practices with business objectives and respond to financial inquiries.
  • Facilitate external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and addressing any discrepancies.
  • Ad hoc requests, including management inquiries, special projects, and other one-off requests as needed.

We're looking for someone who has:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting with 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) with the ability to handle large data sets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Publishing accounting experience (royalties, inventory), a plus.
  • Experience with NetSuite is a plus.

This position is in New York, NY, and follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring in-office presence three days per week.
The base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $130,000 per year. The final offer will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications.
What We Offer:
  • Generous paid holidays and Summer Fridays.
  • Company-paid time off during Christmas week.
  • Comprehensive health benefits, including short-term and long-term disability.
  • Retirement savings (401k) and life insurance.
  • Paid time off and professional development opportunities.
