Since being founded in 2018, Copper has built the standard for institutional digital asset infrastructure with a focus on custody, collateral management, and prime services. Led by CEO Amar Kuchinad, the firm provides a comprehensive suite of custody, trading, and settlement solutions that reduce counterparty risk and bring greater capital and operational efficiency to digital asset markets. Copper’s multi‑award‑winning custody system is unique in that it can be connected to centralised exchanges, DeFi applications, and even staking pools without the assets leaving custody. With one of the strongest insurance coverages and A+ rating from an insurer, Copper is the partner of choice for institutions seeking to safeguard their assets.
Department/Team Purpose With a set of market leading products in custody, settlement, clearing, and liquidity access, Copper is well placed to become a pillar of future digital and tokenised assets industry. The Product Design team is small, highly ambitious, and plays a pivotal role within Copper’s Product organisation. Design shapes the user experience and drives business success, allowing you to make a meaningful impact from day one.
Role Purpose We are looking for a talented Product Designer to help us set the institutional standard for the digital asset industry. This role is for someone excited about turning ambiguity into clarity, collaborating closely with product managers, engineers, and other functions to ship features that matter while balancing user needs, technical constraints, and business impact.
Key Responsibilities
Design end‑to‑end experiences for new and existing products, taking ownership from early prototypes to high‑fidelity designs ready for development.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with product managers to define problems and work with engineers to ensure feasibility and quality.
Think in systems, contributing to our design system and creating scalable patterns that work across platforms with cohesive, consistent, and intentional designs.
Champion the user, running discovery sessions, analysing feedback, and using data to inform decisions.
Push the craft forward, always looking for ways to improve beyond delivery.
Essential Skills and Experience
4‑6 years of product design experience, having shipped features or products that solve real user problems in complex domains like fintech, SaaS, or technical workflows.
Strong portfolio demonstrating real problem‑solving and process, not just aesthetics.
Visual and interaction design skills with a sharp eye for composition, typography, iconography, and meaningful interaction use.
Systems thinking, understanding how features connect to the wider suite of products.
Design tool expertise, mastering Figma and component libraries.
Clear communication, articulating decisions to engineers, stakeholders, and users, presenting work, soliciting feedback, and building consensus.
Self‑sufficiency and ownership, managing time, prioritising, and proactively identifying problems and solutions.
Curiosity and adaptability, eager to learn about new domains such as blockchain technology, institutional finance, or emerging design tools.
Desirable
Experience designing for crypto, fintech, or financial services.
Familiarity with design systems, component libraries, and design tokens.
Experience designing for iOS.
Experience with user research and usability testing.
Experience designing accessible experiences.
