Education: Ph.D. degree in applicable science or engineering discipline and 5+ years’ experience. OR A MS with 8+ years’ experience. OR A BS with 10+ years’ experience or more. - BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in Electrical Engineering. Job Title: Principal Engineer Working Title: Electrical Design Engineer Additional Duties Provide design engineering staff augmentation support to SRNS. Primary responsibilities include engineering analysis, construction support, walkdowns, design development and generation of design output documents including but not limited to: Single Line Drawings; Electrical Equipment Lists; Control System Design; Control Schematics and Connection Diagrams; Electrical Equipment Specifications; Bulk Material Specifications. Circuit/Raceway/Wiring/Connection Design; Grounding; Heat Tracing; Fire Detection; Short Circuit Calculations; Arc Flash Incident Energy Analysis; Load Flow Analysis; and Electrical System Sizing Calculations. Engineering services should be provided using SRNS processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRNS. Additional Experience Qualifications The following experience/skills are required for this position: Candidate must demonstrate ten (10) years of design experience in the nuclear or chemical process industry and possess a working knowledge of NEC, IES, NFPA, IEEE, and OSHA requirements. Candidate must have experience using software (preferably ETAP) to generate electrical system calculations. The following experience/skills are preferred for this position: SRS Design Engineering or DOE facility experience. Proficiency in using MicroStation 2D Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) software. Additional Work Requirements Candidate must be able to perform weekly field walk downs of the job site for the engineering work being performed. These walk downs may involve construction sites with uneven surfaces and work in progress, walking for distances of over half a mile, climbing ladders to access remote areas, and dressing out in protective clothing.
