The primary purpose of the Manager of Industry Analysis is to support BIO's strategic initiatives by maintaining comprehensive industry databases, monitoring and analyzing biotech financial and regulatory trends, and translating data insights into actionable intelligence through research, visualizations, and thought leadership materials that inform stakeholders and advance the organization's economic development objectives.
Essential Functions
- Maintain/update internal databases regarding financial, regulatory, and other trends regarding the biotech industry
- Monitory, track, and analyze industry/regulatory metrics important to BIO
- Collect and analyze data from external data sources and update industry statistics as needed
- Assist team members and other stakeholders with data research, analysis of data, and written documentation utilizing said research and analysis
- Assist in the development of thought leadership pieces, talking points, presentations, and communication materials as needed
- Manage and maintain online distribution and visualization of industry trends for industry stakeholders utilizing Tableau
- Assist the ECS & Economic Development team in coordinating, developing, and implementing products and services that assist our emerging company members
Education and certifications
- College degree or equivalent years of experience; experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry, public health, and/or health policy is a plus. Advanced degree is a plus; 3+ years of work experience.
Experience
- 3+ years of work experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry, public health, and/or health policy
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of the biotech industry, healthcare policy, and venture capital and public financing models
- Strong research and analytic skills
- Demonstrated excellence in communications (oral and written) and organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software suite – Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarization with Tableau, SQL, and Python a plus
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and function well in a fast-paced team environment
Physical Requirements
- Sitting/Standing: Remaining in a stationary position for extended periods (sitting at a desk, standing at a counter).
- Reaching: Reaching for items on shelves or in cabinets.
- Lifting/Carrying: Moving boxes, files, or other office equipment up to 15 pounds.
- Using Hands/Fingers: Operating a computer, keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
- Vision: Close vision for computer work and detailed tasks.
- Fine Motor Skills: Using a mouse, keyboard, and other small office tools.
Travel Requirements
- Required travel: limited (less than 10%)

- Hybrid In Office- Tuesday-Thursday
