Responsibilities- Engineering Design Expertise: Utilize your knowledge in engineering design principles to develop innovative solutions for transportation projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Drawing/Plan Design Preparation: Create high-quality preliminary and final plans and drawings using a variety of software platforms, including Bentley/MicroStation and Open Roads Designer (ORD).
- CADD Production Standards: Adhere to established CADD production standards for transportation projects, including the production of 3D renderings and meticulous file management procedures.
- Field Investigations: Assist with the processing and analysis of field survey data, collaborating with design teams to ensure that all information is accurately captured and integrated into design plans. Conduct field visits to conduct traffic counts, line of sight analysis, guardrail review, and other field investigations.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other team members to facilitate seamless communication and coordination on projects.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in CADD and engineering design. Contribute to process improvements and the adoption of new tools and techniques that enhance productivity and project outcomes.
- Client Engagement: Occasionally participate in client meetings and presentations, showcasing your designs and discussing project progress.
- Educational Background: High School Diploma is required. A BS/BA in a related or a degree in Computer-Aided Design & Drafting is preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in Bentley/MicroStation drafting, demonstrating a strong command of design software and techniques. Experience with Open Road Designer (ORD) and 3D Modeling is required.
