Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling Machine Mounts and Task Lights according to engineering drawings and specifications. This role requires a hands-on individual with experience in mechanical assembly, troubleshooting, and quality control processes to ensure that products are assembled to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assembly and Installation: Assemble machine mounts and task lights based on technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
- Quality Control: Perform quality checks on all components to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and industry standards.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve mechanical issues in assembly processes, including defects in parts or assembly procedures.
- Tool and Equipment Use: Safely operate a variety of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments (e.g., torque wrenches, calipers, micrometers).
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of assembly procedures, parts used, and any changes made during the assembly process.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, quality control, sales and production teams to ensure smooth assembly processes and timely product delivery.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and calibration of equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment to minimize risks.
- Testing: Assist with the testing and inspection of completed assemblies, ensuring functionality before release to the next stage of production.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to ongoing efforts for process improvements and efficiency enhancements.
- Other: Other responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or training in mechanical assembly or related fields is a plus.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in mechanical assembly or related roles, ideally in manufacturing or production environments.
- Skills:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with assembly processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Read and understand basic Bill of Materials
- Read and understand pick/router ticket
- Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Basic understanding of quality control practices and troubleshooting techniques.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
- Basic Knowledge of 24VDC systems
- Soldering
- Simple wiring
- Self-Starter and Self Driven
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move components weighing up to 60lbs
- Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods during the assembly process. Ability to work on step ladders
- Comfort with working in a manufacturing or production environment with variable temperatures and noise levels.
