Surgical Scheduler

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Surgery Scheduler to join our growing pain management clinic. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in coordinating surgical procedures while providing excellent patient support. This role is critical in ensuring smooth communication between patients, providers, surgical facilities, and insurance companies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule surgical and interventional pain management procedures efficiently and accurately
• Coordinate with physicians, surgical centers, hospitals, and anesthesia teams
• Obtain and verify insurance authorizations and referrals
• Communicate pre-op instructions and procedure details to patients
• Confirm surgery dates, times, and required documentation
• Manage surgery-related paperwork, consents, and medical records
• Handle rescheduling, cancellations, and urgent changes as needed
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and clinic policies
• Provide compassionate, professional communication to patients throughout the process

Qualifications:

• Minimum (2+ years) experience as a surgery or procedure scheduler (medical office or hospital setting)
• Experience in pain management, orthopedics, neurology, or surgical specialties preferred
• Strong knowledge of insurance verification and prior authorizations
• Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems (e.g., Athena, eClinicalWorks, Epic, etc.)
• Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus, but not required
