Job Title: Preventative Maintenance (PM) Technician – Equipment Division

Position Summary

The Preventative Maintenance (PM) Technician is responsible for performing routine and scheduled maintenance on heavy equipment across equipment division. This role is critical to ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and operational readiness. The PM Technician will travel extensively to job sites and facilities to inspect, service, and maintain equipment in accordance with company standards, manufacturer specifications, and safety regulations.

Travel is a core function of this position, with approximately 80% of the time spent traveling to various locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on heavy equipment, including but not limited to inspections, lubrication, fluid changes, filter replacements, and minor repairs.
  • Identify, document, and report mechanical issues, wear, or potential failures to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs, and inspection reports.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with company policies, safety standards, and OSHA regulations.
  • Coordinate with Equipment Manager, Project Managers, and field personnel to schedule maintenance activities.
  • Assist with basic repairs as needed and support corrective maintenance when issues are identified during PM inspections.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of service vehicles, tools, and work areas.
  • Travel to multiple job sites and facilities as required, often with short notice.
  • Always promote and adhere to a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

  • Proven knowledge of and experience with heavy equipment.
  • Strong understanding of preventative maintenance practices and procedures.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively (approximately 80% of the role).
  • Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and understand maintenance manuals and service documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience as a PM Technician or equipment maintenance role.
  • Familiarity with construction, industrial, or fleet equipment.
  • Experience using maintenance tracking systems or CMMS software.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in physically demanding conditions for extended periods.

Work Environment

  • Frequent travel to active construction sites, yards, and facilities.
  • Exposure to noise, dust, grease, and heavy machinery.
