Sales Associate

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and motivated Sales Associate to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, assist customers with product selections, and maintain an organized and appealing sales floor. This role offers an opportunity to develop sales skills and gain valuable experience in a dynamic retail environment. Prior experience in grocery stores or retail sales is preferred, along with strong communication skills and a positive attitude. Bilingual abilities are a plus to better serve diverse customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with product inquiries and selections
• Operate POS systems for transactions, including cashiering and cash handling
• Conduct product demos to educate customers about features and benefits
• Upsell products and promote special offers to increase sales
• Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, arranging displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
• Assist with inventory management and stock replenishment
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction
• Demonstrate effective phone etiquette when handling inquiries or assisting customers remotely
• Supervise or assist in supervising other team members as needed

Skills

• Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures
• Experience in retail sales, merchandising, and stock management
• Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities preferred
• Customer service orientation with a friendly demeanor
• Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions and inventory counts
• Basic math skills for handling cash register operations and sales calculations
• Experience with product demos and upselling techniques
• Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership capabilities
• Knowledge of grocery store operations or familiarity with retail environments is advantageous
• Excellent phone etiquette for professional remote communication

Pay: $ $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
